Abstract

R o d s and rod fittings.-The lower end of the reel plate c is secured in a recess, as usual, beneath a ring e, a spring f being fixed to the rod to press against the plate. The upper end of the plate is held by a sliding sleeve h, in which a longitudinal slot i is made w i t h teeth j on one side. The sleeve being in position, it is locked by slightly turning it to engage with a fixed pin k, Fig. 2. The spring f may be replaced by a wedge.
